Muthoni Mathai

 

Muthoni Mathai, MB, ChB, MMed (Psych), PhD, is a psychiatrist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Nairobi (UON). She is the principal MPI for DAPPER. She conducts research and trains and mentors students in research and clinical care for patients at Kenyatta National Hospital and Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital. She teaches and supervises Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology undergraduate medicine students and postgraduates in the areas of clinical evaluation and treatment of patients with mental disorders, and she mentors postgraduate and doctoral students in research.

Susan Meffert

Susan Meffert, MD, MPH, is an associate professor of psychiatry at UCSF, affiliated faculty at UCSF Global Health Sciences and an adviser to the UCSF Faculty International Research Group. She is the PI for SMART study and an MPI for DAPPER. Since 1997, Dr. Meffert has collaborated to address high-prevalence mental health care needs for populations in low- and middle-income countries through clinical work and implementation-science research. She specializes in traumatized populations including asylum-seekers, women affected by violence, and priority care populations, such as those in HIV and primary care.
